Ordered a pizza today, was amused by this.

So I went to Santa Cruz with Dennis and Ryan, fellow Waterloo co-ops at Google. Roommate Gus didn't come along, citing work he was doing for his father. Santa Cruz is about thirty miles (give or take) south of Mountain View. The trip down was a scenic route during the mountains, which were heavily forested. Santa Cruz is on the Pacific Ocean, so it was a beach trip. But the experience was quite similar to going to an average beach on, say, Lake Erie about now - the water was COLD. Which is what causes my reactions in the one video you can find here.

After leaving and picking up Gus, we went out for dinner in Mountain View and then saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, which was everything I wanted it to be and MORE. Second movie I've seen here, the first was Hero, which was also very good, but in a different way. Sky Captain is the kinda thing that just hits all the right buttons with me; the mixture of classic thirties genre films like King Kong and Lost Horizon with Fleischer Superman cartoons, and liberal dashes of Blackhawk and Steranko's Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD. And I want more...

Crap; DC has a Blackhawk Archive Edition, my wallet may be taking a hit if they've got it at the comics store. And I just ordered Lost Horizon from Amazon. Sigh. Be good, everybody.
