Been feeling kinda down lately. This has been exacerbated by the regular headaches I've been getting, the first of which seemed to have coincided with the point I started to work with Perl. Which is either a) a coincidence; or b) a side effect of the look of Perl code.

I like Perl. You can do some very fun things in one line with it. I don't because I'm not that clever and besides, no one will be able to tell what that one line does.

Left work "early" yesterday because of the headache - "early" meaning I did regular person hours instead of staying forever. Also meaning I didn't get Google dinner. Picked up some Molson Canadian on my way home; a great many US beers are pretty bad and at least Canadian is familiar. I really miss a lot of things right now, at least beer isn't one of them.

Lynn notes it's National Singles Week. Send me presents.

Broke down on Saturday, now own a GameCube and four games, the GameCube-to-Game-Boy-Advance hookup cable, two controllers, and a memory card. Consider it my birthday present to myself. Cost me $200, thanks to me being smart - in contrast, me being stupid could have got me an XBox and one game for the same amount. Sadly, my Soul Calibur II is weak.

Picked up the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD this morning. Looking forward to watching those; I recently realized I've never actually seen the Special Editions before.

Two years ago I talked about football a lot on these pages. This time, I'm only gonna say that while the Buffalo Bills have a great defence, their shitty offence isn't gonna get them anywhere. Which saddens me. Is it the O-line or Drew Bledsoe? I dunno. Probably both.

Covered just about everything there. Time to get back to work.
