Sam and Max 2 Freelance Police removal of cancellation Petition - speaking of LucasArts and Sam & Max... there's more than twenty thousand signatures already, but it could use some more.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - I wanted to punish LucasArts for cancelling Sam & Max 2, and then I bought this and it's good. Sigh. In addition to this, I also got Grim Fandango and Escape From Monkey Island post-Sam & Max cencellation, but those were so I could show them that I wanted games like Sam & Max: Freelance Police.

I'm obviously doing a damn good job of sticking it to them.

So I was trying to set up a CGI commenting system I got off the web... unfortunately, the school servers don't appear to have Template.pm installed for Perl. If there's a workaround, I don't know it... so instead of spending my time figuring something else out, I'm using this: Blogback, because I'm a lazy, lazy man. So from this point forward, you can comment on things if you feel they should be commented on. Hooray lazy!

For my house mates who fondly remember SSX 3, or at the very least, saw it being played: one of my new favourite drinks.

diesel sweeties: pixelated robot romance web comic: I am such a geek.

So why is my blog suddenly a - well, a blog? Because I downloaded the Google toolbar for IE, and turned on the "BlogThis!" button. Which is fortunate in that you get actual content, and unfortunate in that it marks a paradigm shift in what my page is: ie, everything BUT a blog. So I'm faced with the issue of what is this now? It's an existential identity crisis - seriously, I am troubled, and I don't really know why.

And so this thing begins to look like an actual weblog - what's up with that?
CNN.com - Man catches 2-year-old girl as she falls3 floors - Mar 25, 2004: How cool is this?

"Hey, so what did you do on vacation?"
"Saw Disney World, quality time with the wife, caught a baby that fell out of the sky, you know, the usual."

ESPN.com - NHL - Roenick set to return -- with protective cage - I just find it funny that a story about a hockey player wearing a mask is originating from Voorhees, New Jersey.

You know what's crazy? Street psychics. Like charicature artists, only easier to spell and offering palm readings instead of sill faces. And just think, there's ZERO investment. Brilliant.

Such things can probably only be found on the streets of California.

Sometimes I hate C++.

I wonder if I can get away with not doing it once I'm back in Waterloo after taking my room back from Raymond. Probably not; I'm taking advanced algorithms. Although they're probably not using it in AI, and I'd eat my hat if they did it in databases.

Yes, I'm taking all three. Plus Stat 231. And an English (Children's lit... how hard can the actual readings be? The course, I can't speak for, but the readings...). I just can't seem to take less than three CS courses a term anymore. The last time was for... CS 240/CS 246. That's almost TWO YEARS ago. Wow.

Okay, that's me complaining about C++. Kinda. Went off on a couple of tangents there.

Because Cressa thinks I have a moustache:

Thanks to Niniane for the pic. I could have chosen a nicer one but this was mroe* fun. It was about here I stopped caring that she was pointing a camera at me. It was shortly after this picture was taken that I started to care again.

*This is an acceptable spelling of "more." Hooray Unix alias command!

So I sit here wondering why no one from Waterloo is on ICQ anymore, and then I remember that while it's 11 here, it's 2 AM, plus a lot of them have work in the morning too. So it's understandable.

And now: yay, quizzes!
Because I'm a big geek:
Beast Wars Megatron
What Megatron are you?

Hey, I took classical studies:
Morpheus
Morpheus

?? Which Of The Greek Gods Are You ??

This one looked interesting, so I did it:

All right, that's enough.

And I didn't redo the video page, because I didn't want to. So there :P

These are fun, plus an example of my digital camcorder in action.

Plus they have the added advantage of personal commentary by me, so you can remember what I sound like. I'll revamp the index tomorrow, but right now there's no real explanation as to who anyone is. There names are Chris, Niniane, Tom, Todor, and Bitzi. Worry about it later. These won't be up forever, only until I decide to take them down.

POST FROM HOME! POST FROM HOME!

And I'm not gonna post something with my other toy tonight. I'm still getting used to this one.

Friday, March 19, 2004

My computer is here! Hooray! It's GIANT!

Plus, the other new toy I ordered with it is here... I'll post something with that later... from home. :)

The strap on my bag just broke, down at the little connecter thingy. Fortunately, the laptop is due to be arriving tomorrow and I had decided to order a laptop bag, since the thing is so damn big; so I can substitute until I get a chance to get a new strap.

In the horribly unlikely even you sent me snail mail AND sent it care of Google, my mailbox (for letter mail, packages go to my desk - I assume) recently disappeared. I really don't know how long ago that was; so it would be a good idea to contact me so I can confirm that I got it or that it has disappeared entirely.

The computer's in Richmond, California; approximately forty five minutes north of Oakland which is approximately forty five minutes northwest of here! Maybe I can get it tomorrow, but Thursday at the latest! Hooray!

Friday, March 12, 2004

So my computer's FINALLY shipped. Keerist that took a long time. Now just (JUST?) 3-5 more business days...

Al Gore is just leaving the Google office. He talks loud on his cell phone, so I could here that he was arranging to meet with someone. Who, what, where, why, I don't know, because I'm typing instead of eavesdropping on the ex-vice president.

This is the computer I'm getting. I won't have it until about March 12, since Gateway makes their computers in China. Until then, I can only dream about my new machine and what I personally estimate to be it's about six seconds of battery life. Seriously, that processor's gotta be an energy whore.
