This just amuses me:

You Are the Very Gay Bert and Ernie!

Two grown puppets living together, sleeping in the same room?
They've even got coordinating striped shirts!

Only about two weeks after I originally said I would do it, the Beast is on eBay. You know you want it...

Huh. Actually, not so much of a surprise.

Via Slashdot: scientists have figured out why some popcorn won't pop. What does this mean to you? No solutions are presented, but the expensive stuff is better bang for your buck since most of it will pop, rather than the up to 47%(!) that will not in the cheap stuff.

One more term down. The next one... started yesterday, with a bartending class at Conestoga College that will be occupying my Thursday nights until the middle of June. Other classes include the Summer Tropical Drinks that runs for three Sundays in May/June at Conestoga College, and Intro to Human Sexuality and Detective Fiction at the University of Waterloo, so I can gets my degree. Human Sexuality is a block course, it will also be over in June. So my mandate from then on is to read crime novels.

So in the middle of August or so, maybe I'll get to feel like this guy and gradumate.

Congratulations to everyone who's successfully completed their Undergrad degrees!

John Rogers's blog. His special is currently on the Comedy network as I write this. He's really quite good, so I'm throwing up a link.

It is the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Belsen by British troops. Don't expect a party on the other end of that link.

So. Anyone want to see The Killers Tuesday, May 31 at the Molson Amphitheatre? I assume it will be really good. Because people like the Killers (an odd phrase I'm shamelessly stealing from Cressa).

One exam down, four to go. This term.

As I lay sleepless in bed tonight, it struck me that this is it. In one and a half short weeks, it'll be different. People I care about will be gone, and things won't be the same with them. I will not see them every day. I won't hang out with them nearly as often as I like. Hell, I'll even miss the things that never were. I know that you, my friends, will still be there when I need you. It's just that I'm gonna miss not having you there when I don't. And with exams having set in, it means that time is coming up soon. To all things, an ending.

Okay. Emo-Mark off. He's one morose mother fucker. Besides, there'll still be some people around... Like Raymond and Cressa and Catherine and Sri and...

So I'm reading this about the Nokia 8801, when it mentions that Nokia is "going after the fashionista crowd with this one" rather than the power user. I'm salivating over the damn thing, which is unusual for me and cell phones, when this line of text makes me realize that "holy crap, I've turned into part of the fashionista crowd." Which is just my way of saying "style over substance," since a fashionista is really just someone closely involved with the fashion industry or someone who rilly, rilly likes clothing fashion. Which I don't think is me, exactly. But part of the crowd...

Style over substance. That's what I want in my gadgets these days. I'm only one year away from the guy who bought the Beast because of the sheer power and all the features it had. Now, I'm the guy who's ready to sell the Beast and go to the iBook, and a second "good" computer tthat will probably be a Mac Mini (I still need the increased harddrive space!) as a kind of media centre. The Beast seems archaic and useless, even though it clearly isn't - it is still one of the best computers among the people I hang out with. Computer games? It can run ANYthing, but I have the slick new PSP and the reliable GameCube and the cool PS2. Who needs a computer for games? Well, except for World of Warcraft. Which runs on my bottom-of-the-line iBook, post-RAM upgrade. All sorts of extras built in that for any of the Macs I'm looking at I'd need get add-ons for. But I don't care so much - all I'm losing is the DVD burner, so the Mac mini would definitely have one.

Does all this make me cool? Damned if I know. I still spent this post talking about electronic gizmos. It makes me look kinda cool, I guess. We'll see where I go from here, and if the inner nerd spills out in the future. In the meantime, perhaps I should go shopping for shoes...

Nah. Not that bad. Not yet. 'sides, I'm hoping these guys will have some new designs soon.

Trapped at the 'rents by the wet, wet snowstorm. Isn't this April? I mean, honestly.
edit: Or not.

Loving it. I think that makes me a bad person.
